Additional Scholarships
Need‐based grants of up to $10,000 are awarded to student activists. A student activist focuses on using
or supporting strong actions (such as public protests) to help make changes in politics or society.
Although US citizenship is not a consideration, applicants must live in the United States and plan to enroll
at an accredited program in the US in order to qualify. Early grantees have been active in the struggle
against racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of oppression; building the movement for economic
justice; and creating peace through international, anti‐imperialist solidarity. Grants are for one year
although students may re-apply for subsequent years.
