Bokun Yan’s BFA thesis exhibition was originally scheduled from April 13–17 in the CCA Hubbell Street Galleries on CCA’s San Francisco campus. Due to the Bay Area’s COVID-19 shelter-in-place order, we are sharing work by Bokun Yan and other graduating students on CCA’s website and social media channels.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The scenery in front of us might not be exactly what we see, in [Bokun Yan's thesis work,] "Jungle." Orderliness and disorder are hidden under the woods that cover the sky, on the paintings, and we are driven by our desire to race and chase around in the jungle. It should have been a well-ordered modern society, but following the law of the jungle. We are animal creatures in the jungle. Everything starts with desire. Everything returns to the jungle.

BIO

Bokun Yan is a Spring 2020 graduate and an artist who loves tradition and progress. Bokun Yan observes human, nature, and our disordered social reform, and issues in contemporary context.
