Event description
The First Year Honors Program 2019 exhibition Reflections In/Equity is a thematic show that features work examining issues and interpretations of equity by the First Year students across all disciplines. The core mission of California College of the Arts is to educate students to shape culture through the practice and critical study, creative thinking and conceptual understanding. The First Year Honors students' investigations have been based in critical dialog, engagement and reviews in order to generate perspectives and interpretations represented in this exhibition.
The First Year Honors Program enhances students' first year experience with rigorous critique and deepening personal explorations. Students across all disciplines are mentored by graduate students and introduced to available resources at the college and throughout the Bay Area. During the fall semester, students are nominated by Core Studio faculty based on exceptional motivation, creativity, and leadership demonstrated in Core Studio coursework. This voluntary program is available only to students through nomination and invitation.
