Event description

Spirits are constantly moving within me and around me, present but always stirring. I’ve been trying to find ways to manifest these spirits and remember my loved ones in my practice. I am curious about death and what goes on when our souls are free from the physical body. Where are they present? And in what ways can I feel their spirit? As I implement themes such as transience, grief, and departure, as well as nostalgia and certainty, I create art as a desire to memorialize and discern their presence in my life.

Building up texture, photo-transfer imagery, and mark-making is a series of tactile approaches I use to express mourning, healing, and celebration. Through buffing, carving and etching, I use printmaking as a reflective process that embraces rhythm, repetition, and reproduction.
