Welding orientation is required to use this facility. Welding orientations are scheduled at posted times at the beginning of each semester, or can be provided to classes or individuals by request to the Backlot Manager.
Students currently enrolled in SF metal fabrication classes have priority during class hours, please see calendar for times.

About the Backlot: Welding Studio
The San Francisco Welding Studio is an outdoor work area where students can perform basic metal fabrication. The Welding Studio supports a variety of processes including MIG and TIG welding, brazing, silver soldering, and plasma cutting, and hosts classes such as bicycle frame design, metal techniques for furniture, and architectural fabrication.
