IThrive Series #1: Communicating with Professors

Join us to get tips on how to approach professors via email, in-person, and what sort of style to use. 

IThrive is a series of workshops in collaboration with Learning Resource Center that focus on the adjustment of U.S. academic classrooms in the lens of an international student. It aims to strengthen English language skills and offer guidance on academic approaches, tools, and strategies to thrive at CCA.

LRC Walking Workshop: Art Analysis

Workshop will examine art analysis vs. description and check out cool art on campus at the Wattis Institute. Free mini-notebooks provided!

Neurodiversity Awareness Workshop

Monday, October 10 3:00-4:00 PM

Join OSS for this 50-minute workshop to learn about Neurodiversity. We will discuss neurodivergent identities, how Neurodiversity interacts with educational spaces, advocacy tips, and hold a dialogue about the changes we would like to see made at CCA and beyond. Whether you identify as neurodivergent or just want to learn more, this workshop space will be open to all for an intentional, caring conversation around Neurodiversity.

LRC Workshop: Crafting Artist Statements

An artist statement is an important tool you will need as a working artist for fellowships, scholarships, artist residencies, and beyond. Join us in the LRC for an interactive workshop where we will brainstorm and draft a working artist statement. We will cover tips, tricks, and best practices for writing a statement that will wow your audience. Free snacks will be provided.

DisabiliTea

Access/Disability Services is holding a space for conversation and connection around disability, identity, and inclusion called DisabiliTea. We will have coffee, tea, and snacks (including gluten free/vegan options) in the Learning Resource Center - Room 206 in the Main Building across from the Materials Library. We are hoping to engage in conversations about future programming / ways we can stay connected. Add your perspective to the conversation and grab a snack!
