COVID–19 Information for the CCA Community

Last updated on Jan 31, 2024

CCA continues to follow the guidance and recommendations of public health agencies as it relates to COVID-19. Our top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our CCA community, as well as our neighbors and loved ones at home. This page will be updated as new information is available.

If you have a positive COVID-19 test, or if you are sick and suspect that you have COVID-19 but do not yet have test results, stay home! You must:

  1. Report your case to us using this form.
  2. You will be contacted by a member of our team who will collect information from you, guide you on your next-steps, and alert anyone who may need to be notified. You can see CCA's isolation protocols for positive cases here.

Please note that while CCA is primarily responsible for initiating the contact tracing process, the COVID Response team is not able to provide 24/7 monitoring of incoming cases over the weekend and there will be a delay in response over the weekend. Therefore, we ask that you please use your best judgement to manage COVID protocols and the safety of those around you. If you find out over the weekend that you have tested positive for COVID-19, and you have had any close contacts (defined as being in close proximity, within 6 feet, for 15 minutes or more) within the last 48 hours of your positive test, please notify them directly.

The COVID Response team will promptly work with students, faculty, or staff, along with public health officials, to identify and contact individuals who may have been exposed, during the work week, and will still follow up with close contacts that you have reported. However, if you feel comfortable, your initial outreach will help enhance safety on campus.

Please reach out to your healthcare provider directly if you have any concerns about your health or your symptoms worsen.

Important Information About the Spring 2024 Semester

As of January 2024, all students, faculty, and staff are strongly recommended to be up-to-date on their vaccinations against COVID-19 (with all recommended doses in their primary vaccine series, and one booster shot).

COVID-19 Testing Resources

Most cities are offering free testing sites, and there are free options in both San Francisco and Oakland. Please check your city government website for additional resources.

Campus Safety Protocols

Community members are not required to wear masks on-campus, but well-fitting non-vented N95, KN95, or KF94 respirators are still highly recommended. This applies to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated community members.

Enhanced cleaning protocols are in place and adhere to CDC guidelines. All HVAC filtration and air circulation measures are in compliance with ASHRAE standards. You can find FAQs about ventilation here.

Faculty and Staff can find additional information on the Human Resources Workplace Guidelines during COVID-19 page.

Students living in CCA residence halls, please see the Housing & Dining COVID-19 Protocols.
