Status of Summer 2020 Classes and Programs
This message was sent to all CCA students on April 20, 2020.
We are writing today to share information with you regarding the status of summer programs at CCA.
Regrettably, given the likelihood we will need to maintain physical distancing for some time in order to keep our community safe, we are continuing the suspension of in-person classes through the summer. While some summer classes will be able to take place remotely, all of our in-person summer youth programs are canceled. Academic Affairs is working closely with the deans and program chairs and will have updated summer class offerings to share with you as soon as possible, at least by the end of April. Academic Affairs staff and faculty are reviewing various scenarios for our MDES and MFA Comics programs, which start late in the summer and we hope may still be able to safely meet on campus.
We know that this decision raises many questions about specific programs and the services that support them.
- If you have already registered for summer classes contact Student Records for assistance.
- If you are currently living in CCA residence halls and require housing through the summer or have applied for summer housing in anticipation of classes or internships that have been canceled, please see the updated summer housing information or contact Housing, Dining, & Residential Education.
We recognize that this is disappointing to hear, and we want to acknowledge the immense disruption this pandemic has caused to your lives. From the earliest days of this crisis, the health and well-being of our community has been the priority guiding each decision we make. We will continue to follow the recommendations of state and local health officials, and will not return to in-person instruction until we are confident it is safe to do so. We look forward to being together again when we can safely return to campus.

Please take good care of yourselves.
