September 30, 2021

To all CCA residential students,

Residential Education’s priority is the health and safety of the residential community in a time of a global pandemic and increasing variants. CCA still has a strict no external guest policy for the residential halls, however, starting Monday, October 4th, 2021, the guest policy for CCA residential halls has been amended to reflect CCA’s vaccination requirement, with health and safety guidelines in place.

Starting Monday, October 4th, all CCA residential halls will allow only currently enrolled students (with a CCA ID and vaccine validation sticker) as guests by their host residential students. Please carefully review the update to the guest policy below and if you have any questions, email Residential Education at resed@cca.edu.

Guest Policy for CCA residential students (effective 10/4/21)

  • Residential Education will enforce a strict “No External Guest policy” for the residential halls. However, for CCA students living in the halls, the exemption has been made to allow only currently enrolled CCA students (with a CCA ID and vaccine validation sticker) as guests.
    • Other exemptions to this policy are pre-approved vendors for building maintenance, mail service people (i.e. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.), and emergency responders and medical personnel.
    • Any exceptions or revocation of guest privileges are up to the discretion of Residential Education or the Dean of Students Office.
  • For CCA residential students living in the residential halls (Founders Hall, Blattner Hall, and Irwin Hall), Residential Education will allow up to two (2) guests maximum per resident, who are currently enrolled CCA students with vaccine validation stickers. All guests assume the liability of entering a residential building in a time of a pandemic and agree to follow CCA’s COVID-19 policies and Residential Education community standards, including removal of guests if applicable.
    • All approved guests are required to wear face coverings within the building (especially in the lobby, elevators, hallways, and common spaces) and must be escorted by their resident in and out of the building. They must also wear their issued CCA visitor sticker visible at all times.
      • Face coverings are required at all times even in the student's residential unit when approved guests are present
        • The only exception is no face coverings are required while actively eating at Maker’s cafe or Maker's outdoor dining area
      • If a resident has roommates or suitemates, the roommates or suitemates must agree to the guest visit beforehand.

Checking in guests:

    • Founders Hall and Blattner Hall: All guests must check in at the front desk upon arrival. The Front Desk attendant will sign the guest into our Check In / Check Out system to receive a CCA visitor sticker with a date. This sticker must be visibly present on the approved guest.
      • Res Ed will ask how long is the duration of the visit
      • All guests must check out at the front desk before midnight the same day they visit

    • Please review CCA’s Residential Community Standards for Visitation & room guests
      • Residents are responsible for and can be held accountable for the behavior of their guests. Residents of a room may be held responsible for the behavior that takes place inside the room whether or not the residents are present. It is the resident’s responsibility to inform their guests of Residential Education and college policies.
      • All students must obtain the consent of the occupants of a room before entering another student's room.
      • Guests must be signed in with a host at all times and must provide their CCA student identification card.
