Information about Fall 2021 for Students

The message below was emailed to CCA students on March 4, 2021.
I am excited to share that as of February 24 all CCA professors and staff are eligible to receive the Coronavirus vaccination. This is excellent news that supports all of us on our journey to return to CCA in person next fall.
We are very much looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible here in the Bay Area in August to begin the 2021-22 academic year. To make that happen, we are developing a new, hybrid fall schedule that will fully support making as well as the most vibrant aspects of campus life, while still safeguarding the health of our community. In other words: minimum physical contact, maximum impact of our relationships, maker spaces, and curriculum.
The summer and fall schedule of classes will be available for you to view in Workday beginning March 8, and registration begins March 29, with more information about specific appointment times from the Student Records Office next week.
Here’s what you’ll see:
- Some classes will be hybrid and some will still be entirely online
- “Hybrid” means that some portion of the course is delivered in person at CCA, and the rest is online
- Some of the online portion might also be synchronous (takes place in real time - even though it’s online)
- All classes will have “real time” listed on the schedule - that means this is the time when the class will meet live - whether that’s in person on campus, or for synchronous online instruction
As we navigate through this period of increasing vaccinations towards a return to a more recognizable fall semester at CCA, we recognize that plans may shift as circumstances change and health officials revise guidelines and regulations in the coming months and we are prepared for it all.
We will continue to provide updates via email at the collegewide and program-specific levels, and we will continue providing detailed information on our return to campus planning on the COVID–19 resource page on Portal. If you have questions in the meantime and you’re not sure where to direct them, please email email@example.com and we’ll help you find the answer.
Thank you for your collaboration, compassion, and creativity in this year of on-going flux. We are beyond thrilled to return to CCA for a dynamic and historic fall 2021 semester!
Please take good care of yourselves and I am sending you all my best wishes.
