Campus Access Information
On Campus Safety Protocols for All Employees
If you need to be physically on campus at any time, you must follow the below health and safety protocols. These are processes that CCA is following to ensure a safe community on campus. As a reminder, our protocols are subject to change as we receive more information from the SF Department of Public Health, CDC and other resources.
Health & Safety Guidelines
Anyone coming to campus must comply at all times with all applicable CDC and Cal/OSHA guidelines. Please continue to follow these guidelines when you are physically on campus.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
CCA has announced a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for all students, faculty, and staff who will be on campus for fall 2021. A vaccination or approved exemption is required by September 1. To update your vaccination status, please log into Workday and follow these instructions. Entering your vaccination status as soon as possible will help inform updates to existing on-campus policies and protocols, while continuing to ensure that we keep our community safe and healthy.
As is our current process, if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed to COVID-19 or tested positive for COVID-19, you must notify HR immediately. You will be advised to immediately quarantine for a minimum of 10 days since the onset of symptoms and to seek testing or medical care. At this time, testing under these circumstances is still required per CDC guidelines, even if you have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
If you are an on campus or hybrid employee, and you choose to travel in your personal time, please follow the CDC guidelines on travel prior to returning to campus. These guidelines recommend that if you are unvaccinated and have traveled, you should quarantine for 7 days post travel and obtain a COVID-19 test within 3-5 days of returning from their trip. You must still quarantine for the full 7 days, even if you receive a negative test result. If you are unable to work remotely during this quarantine period, please connect with your Manager and HR so that you may use COVID-19 Supplemental Sick time. If you are vaccinated, you do not need to quarantine or get tested, but please self-monitor for any COVID-19 symptoms.
If you have recently traveled and are a remote employee, but need to come to campus to pick up an item, you may do so without quarantine and testing, assuming you are not sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
When can I access the campus?
Access to both the Oakland and San Francisco campuses is limited and in most cases by appointment only, except for CCA essential staff. The Oakland campus has reopened with limited access.
Students, faculty, and staff should arrange appointments to access campus directly through the department from which they require service or information, such as Media Services, Libraries, specific studios (through the Studio Operations Manager), etc. These appointments will be primarily for pick-up of items such as student tool kits for specific programs, media equipment, or books and will be through contactless curbside pick-up whenever possible.

Other scheduled access
The SF and Oakland campuses continue to have limited access and will be primarily accessible only to students and faculty participating in hybrid Summer semester courses, students approved to access shop/studio space, essential employees and students living in Founders Hall. Departments are permitted to send a representative regularly to pick-up mail from the mail room during open hours.
If scheduled access cannot be accommodated through contactless curbside pick-up, or if another need arises, all students, faculty, and staff must sign in with Public Safety when accessing campus. For students looking to access items from their studio space, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time. Individuals who have been approved to come to campus must follow CCA's health and safety protocols and sign in with Public Safety upon arrival. Public Safety is located in the main building at 1111 Eighth Street in San Francisco and the Oliver Arts Center in Oakland. Be sure to bring your CCA ID.
Reserving Gathering Spaces
Employees are permitted to reserve spaces on the SF campus for small gatherings. To reserve space for small on campus gatherings, please use EMS. Currently the rooms available on the SF campus are 101, 102, 102B, 140, 141, E1, E2, E3, and any of the large conference rooms at 80 Carolina.
Vendors and contractors
Vendors, contractors, or consultants who are required to come to campus are required to sign in with Public Safety (see "other scheduled access" above). Arranging departments are responsible for informing contractors of these requirements. (This does not apply to regular delivery services such as USPS, FedEx, etc.)
Access to the Dogpatch MFA studios reopened on March 8, 2021 and will be addressed directly with the MFA students and faculty.
What are the hours to access mail and deliveries?
Staff can pick up mail and deliveries from shipping and receiving on both campuses Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm. Anyone coming to pick up mail or packages on either campus must sign in with Public Safety and present their CCA ID. Face coverings are required to be worn at all times.
Public Safety checkpoints are located in the Oliver Art Center on the Oakland campus and at 1111 Eighth Street and 184 Hooper Street in San Francisco.
