CCA’s MFA in Film, recently named by MovieMaker Magazine as "One of the Best Film Schools in the U.S. and Canada," encourages you to continuously question and refine your ideas and working methods while strengthening your intuitive and conceptual capabilities. Our program's unique multidisciplinary culture and diverse, award-winning faculty provides ideal conditions for developing thriving practices in today's rapidly changing media landscape. MFA student films, created with faculty mentorship, have played at major international films festivals such as Locarno, Slamdance, and the San Francisco International Film Festival, with one MFA thesis film recently nominated for a Student Academy Award.

The MFA in Film program takes full advantage of all that the Bay Area arts community has to offer, including student collaborations with the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T) MFA program, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, SFFILM, San Francisco International Film Festival, San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, and The Meisner Technique Studio. Along with field trips to Skywalker Ranch, the Sundance Film Festival, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles, you’ll have many resources to help you kickstart your own professional network.
