Chat is a text-based collaboration tool from Google. Chat is available as a stand-alone desktop app, a browser application, and is available inside Gmail.

Chat has many new features for group collaboration, similar to other popular tools like Slack.
In Chat you can create a Space and invite people to collaborate. In your Space you can have multiple threads, share files, launch a video meeting in Meet (Google's video conferencing app), and search and browse your chat history.
