Michael Wertz Voting Poster Cropped

CCA@CCA Student Design Fellow

Last updated on Apr 18, 2024

CCA’s Exhibitions and Public Programming Department is looking for an experienced graphic designer to lead the development of a visual identity for the CCA Voting Coalition's Fall 2024 voter education campaign. In an effort to make voting culture ubiquitous on the CCA campus, the CCA@CCA Student Design Fellow will be asked to design and produce a visually cohesive and striking series of print posters, social media posts, infographics, and more. We are looking for someone who is creative, enthusiastic, has great communication skills, and a keen interest in social justice, activism, and community engagement.

The CCA@CCA Design Fellow is scheduled to work 8 hours per week August–December 2024, but exact hours will vary based on deliverable deadlines. During the fall semester, the designer will work one 5-hour shift per week at the front desk of the CCA Campus Gallery. During this shift, the designer is responsible for gallery sitting duties, including opening and closing the exhibition, monitoring the gallery space, and answering visitor questions. Most of the shift can be dedicated to the completion of graphic design deliverables. Working onsite at the Campus Gallery allows the Design Fellow to run design ideas by the Exhibitions team and discuss feedback in-person. Additional design work can be completed from home as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in graphic design for both print and digital platforms
  • Fluency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
  • Keen attention to detail and an ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
  • Eligibility to vote in the US is NOT required

Hourly Rate: $18.07

The CCA@CCA Student Design Fellow reports to the Exhibitions Gallery Manager, who is a member of the CCA Voting Coalition.
