Extension Student Account Info

Last updated on Mar 04, 2025

Starting in the Spring 2025 semester, all Extension students taking multi-session courses will receive a CCA student account. This account will provide you with access to a personal CCA email address and a wide range of on-campus and online resources. Students only enrolled in a one or two day workshop will not receive accounts. If you don't already have an active CCA login, follow these instructions to create one. If you are CCA staff or a current CCA degree-seeking student, you already have an active CCA login and may disregard these steps.

Steps to set up your account:

Step 1: Create your CCA account.

Go to: https://accounts.cca.edu/activate/student/

You will need your student ID number, which has been emailed to you. Reach out to extension@cca.edu if you can't find it.

Step 2: Login to your CCA email account.

CCA email accounts are hosted by Google. Your CCA email can be accessed at google.cca.edu, your mobile device, or any email client.

Learn more about CCA email.

Step 3: Set-up CCA cyber security.

CCA requires Duo multi-factor authentication for all students. You are required to enroll in Duo and will automatically be prompted to enroll the first time logging into your CCA email.

Instructions to enroll in Duo.

Step 4: Upload your CCA ID photo (on-campus courses only)

Follow the steps on this page to upload a photo for your CCA ID badge. When you arrive for class, go to the front gate window at 145 Hooper Street to pick up your badge. This is not required if you are only taking an online class.

If you lose your badge, you must print another at the public safety office with a $5 fee.

If you are having trouble with any of these steps, please contact helpdesk@cca.edu.

CCA Account Guidelines:

The username and password you created will grant access to:

A CCA Email address: username@cca.edu

Google suite access & Moodle

On-Campus Printing (students log in via PaperCut)

Media Center access

Library access

Locker checkout

If applicable to your specific class: Tool center access

Extension students are only authorized to only use studio spaces or equipment relevant to their classes during their scheduled class times and after attending an orientation as a class. Extension students should not use studio spaces outside of class time unless otherwise approved by a studio manager & instructor, as times outside of scheduled Extension classes are usually in use by degree classes.

Extension student accounts do not grant licenses to Adobe, but the creative suite is available to students when on-campus in computer labs.

Do not use this email account to sign up for outside services as it will be deactivated when you are no longer attending classes. Be sure to backup important files at the end of your class as deactivated accounts will be routinely cleared.

If you sign up for a class in the future, the same account will be able to get reactivated. Be sure to keep your ID badge safe, as you will be able to continue using the same one.
