CCA@CCA Student Fellow
Creative Citizens in Action (CCA@CCA) is a college-wide initiative that promotes creative activism and democratic engagement through public programs, exhibitions, and curriculum connections. CCA’s Exhibitions and Public Programming Department is seeking creative researchers and practitioners to assist with conceiving, planning, and producing public programs related to CCA@CCA's 2026 theme, Hope As Movement, with a particular focus on the upcoming exhibition Under the Guard Tower: The Watercolors of Chikaji Kawakami.
The CCA@CCA Student Fellow will play a central role in helping design, recruit audiences for, and lead tours of this exhibition. Additional responsibilities may include developing interpretive materials, collaborating with faculty to integrate the exhibition into course visits, and engaging community partners to expand public understanding of Kawakami’s work and its historical and social context.
Tasks may include:
- Designing, scheduling, and conducting in-person tours of Under the Guard Tower: The Watercolors of Chikaji Kawakami
- Recruiting tour participants and coordinating class and group visits
- Developing tour scripts, interpretive materials, and visitor engagement strategies
- Event planning and assistance for CCA@CCA programs
- Student outreach and community partnership development
- Social media efforts and promotional support
- Email communication and website assistance
- Other duties related to public engagement and program production
We are looking for someone creative and enthusiastic who can work independently, has excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in social justice, activism, and community engagement. Experience or interest in museum education, gallery tours, or audience engagement is especially welcome.
This position requires regular in-person meetings at the CCA Campus Gallery (1480 17th Street), with some projects conducted remotely.
Hourly Rate: $19.18
Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week; hours may vary based on delivery deadlines and the CCA@CCA events schedule.
