For the most seamless interaction with all of the Google Workspace for Education here at CCA, using the Gmail/Google Apps web-based interface is recommended.

Although you may prefer the look and feel of an email program there are many administrative features that are only accessible by using the web interface at google.cca.edu.

Some of the features only accessible through google.cca.edu:

• better integration with google calendar
• setting vacation auto response
• enabling IMAP or POP connections

Google has a list of supported email clients and mobile devices and their setup instructions. You can view it here. (CCA Staff are required to use the Gmail web interface on CCA owned staff computers)

These are the server settings that should work for most programs and devices:

• Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
  • Port: 993
  • Security: SSL
  • username: your entire CCA email address (e.g. jsmith@cca.edu)
• Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
  • Port: 465 or 587
  • Security: Use STARTTLS: Yes
    (some clients call this SSL)
  • username: your entire CCA email address (e.g. jsmith@cca.edu)
