Event description
Please join us in the Hooper Atrium (184 Hooper) for a reception of the exhibition We Just Wanna Be Somebody Someday: A Sketchbook Show on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm.
We Just Wanna Be Somebody Someday is a collegewide exhibition focusing on what happens before the art. Artists, designers, writers, and cultural producers mostly share the final product with little to no trace of all the trials, efforts, missteps, and failures that came before. This show is about sharing the process of creative thought.
The exhibition will feature sketches, journal entries, doodles, work notes, rough drafts, screenshots and anything else placed into a sketchbook, journal or hard drive that has assisted in thinking things through–whether the work has materialized or not. This is an exhibition about seeing the train of thought, ideas too big to be made, the errors of making, and insights into the creative process.
The exhibition features work from students, staff, and faculty.
