Vibeke Sorensen is an artist and composer working in digital multimedia and animation, immersive and wearable technologies, interactive architectural installation, and networked visual-music performance. She is a 2001 Rockefeller Foundation Fellow in Film/Video/Multimedia. She was Professor and Chair (Head of School) of the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore from 2009 - 2021, and Founding Chair of the Division of Animation and Digital Arts (DADA), School of Cinematic Arts (SCA), at the University of Southern California (USC) from 1995 - 2005. From 1985 - 1995, Sorensen was Founding Director of the Computer Animation Laboratory (CAL) in the School of Film/Video at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Her work has been featured in festivals, conferences, museums, online, and in a range of publications including books and magazines.
