Event description
Poet and CCA MFA Writing alumna Kate Colby reads from her new book Paradoxx and discusses intersections between poetic form, performance, and the creative process. Colby is also the author of I Mean, Reverse Engineer, and several other collections of poetry and prose. Her poems and essays have appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, Conjunctions, Harper’s, Lana Turner, Literary Hub, and The Nation.
She has received awards and fellowships from the Poetry Society of America, the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts, the Dodd Research Center at the University of Connecticut, and the Woodberry Poetry Room at Harvard University. Originally from Massachusetts, she now lives in Providence, where she teaches at Brown and UPenn and performs with the ad hoc poets’ theater group Spatulate Church Emergency Shift.

This event is part of CCA MFA Writing’s 25-Year Anniversary programming, a yearlong celebration of the people and practices that have shaped the program since its founding in 2000.
