Event description
Alumna Shelby Hinte (who will be teaching Humble Pie - Print Edition in Spring 2026) returns to CCA for a lively reading and conversation about rage and new beginnings. She is Senior Editor of Write or Die Magazine and author of the acclaimed new novel Howling Women, a metafictional confessional about violence, female rage, sex, addiction, and the lengths one woman goes to rewrite a history she never consented to.
Following its protagonist Sabine Haegan from California to “the otherworldly landscape of New Mexico," Howling Women is “written in an exacting, explosive, and at times darkly funny voice vibrating with rage and redemption.” Hinte’s debut is “a haunted confession that asks us what it means to be understood, to be human, and ultimately to be saved.”
