Event description

Join CCA Animation and Game Arts for an evening with story artist, Christian Roman who will share a glimpse into the storytelling world in his presentation, Pixar and the Art of Storytelling." Christian Roman graduated from Boston University's College of Fine Art in 1991 with a BFA in Painting. Wanting to work beyond still images and tell meaningful visual stories, he then moved to Los Angeles and utilized the strong artistic foundational skills he learned at BU to break into animation. In 1994 his first professional job was on The Simpsons, where eventually became the Storyboard Supervisor for the show. In 2000, Roman developed and directed two animated TV series for Disney Television – Disney’s Fillmore! and Jake Long: American Dragon, and was nominated for an Emmy and an Annie.

Throughout the course of his career, Roman has storyboarded on various television shows including Lilo & Stitch, King of the Hill, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat and The Simpsons Movie. In 2007 Roman moved to San Francisco to begin his career at Pixar Animation Studios as a story artist on the box-office hit Toy Story 3, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2011.
