Event description

Take a moment to appreciate the work of CCA community members who have contributed work related to disability identity. This display will be up for the entirety of Disability is Diversity Week at the rear of the Nave directly next to the Alcove Presentation Space. Support fellow community members by interacting with the display by creating and hanging paper stars alongside the body of work.

This will be the first week-long effort at CCA to engage the community in disability acknowledgement, visibility, and celebration. Disability is Diversity Week is named to represent that disability should be present in our conversations regarding diversity, social justice and inclusion. Because disability touches and intersects with every identity as part of the diversity umbrella, we believe offering space for community building, sharing experience, and discussing ways forward while specifically focusing on disabled identities is essential towards growth for our community. We hope that the art displayed here can hold space for disability identity and empower artists and individuals who were often left out of conversation.
