Event description
Between 2019 and 2025, three cohorts of CCA students traveled to South Korea for an immersive introduction to Seoul’s vibrant design culture and the distinctive work being produced there today. Through intensive workshops with local practitioners, visits to design studios, and explorations of sites throughout the city, students gained firsthand insight into contemporary Korean design and its cultural context. This exhibition celebrates the legacy and impact of the course, featuring collaborative student projects and workshop outcomes from across its various iterations.
Join us on opening day, June 29, from 3–5 pm for a pop-up sale of zines, artists’ books, and experimental printed matter. Presented by this summer’s San Francisco–based iteration of the course, the student work explores translation in an expanded sense—across language, medium, typography, sensory experience, and cultural context.
