One of the highlights of the third part of Drum Listens to Heart is an installation of multimedia sculptures by Guadalupe Maravilla. He calls them disease throwers or healing instruments because he also uses them to create sound baths, where the sonic vibrations of a gong align with those of a body.

Maravilla and fellow sound healer Michael Jay lead a sound bath for approximately one hour, bathing visitors in vibrations.

Combining sculpture, painting, performative acts, and installation, Salvadoran American artist Guadalupe Maravilla grounds his transdisciplinary practice in activism and healing. His work is in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Whitney, Reina Sofía, and the ICA Miami.
