Our international alumni panels are full of storytelling & helpful employment search tips. Join us as our panelists share their life post CCA, their careers, and how they got there.
PANELIST OVERVIEW:
Cheng Ru Li: Cheng-Ru Li is a User Experience Designer with an industrial design background. He has worked alongside the Digital Experience Design team of a Fortune 100 company. Cheng-Ru enjoys solving complex physical and digital design problems in large-scale systems. Currently, he lives in San Francisco and spends his free time learning and working out.
Taamara Rath: Taamara Rath graduated from California College of the Arts, with a Bachelors in Architecture, and concentrations in Urban Works and History/Theory/Experiments, in May 2020. She has work experience in Architecture, Interiors, Urban Planning, Historic Renovation and Community Design. She is currently working at Urban Chalet, an interior design firm based in the Bay Area and New York, that specializes in healthcare and residential design.
Purva Takkar: Purva is a UX Growth designer for Adobe Express. She is originally from New Delhi, India, where she was a visual designer for 5 years before deciding to pursue MDes at CCA. Purva's design philosophy is shaped by embracing the mess, staying curious, and being empathetic. You can often find her playing badminton, bingeing on new shows, or experimenting with fusion cooking in her free time.
Tony Fung: Hi hello! Pura Vida, hope you are doing fantastic! I am Tony, a recent graphic design student that graduated in May 2022. Costa Rica is my home country and I can't measure how proud I am of that country. I love making people laugh to make them happy and feel appreciated. My hunger to keep learning new experiences never stops. Currently, I am the Assistant Designer at WineGlass Marketing, a design agency located in Napa California.
Yomna Osman: Yomna is an independent curator, writer, and researcher currently based between Paris and Cairo. Yomna believes that transnational artistic dialogue is vital to decoloniality and decolonial sensemaking. Through a multidisciplinary discourse built mostly of non-western fiction, philosophy, and landscape, her practice sheds light and slows down the slippage between appearance and disappearance. Yomna is currently the curatorial fellow at the Institute for Contemporary Art at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has curated exhibitions, performances, and screenings at various institutions including Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid; The Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco; Fondation Fiminco, Paris, among others. She has held various curatorial positions at KADIST, San Francisco;the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; ArteEast, New York, among others.
