Event description

Speaker/Panel
We are so lucky to have CCA Alum Tamara Berdichevsky join us from RootDivision to introduce us to all the wonderful opportunities RootDivision provides those in the arts!

Founded in 2002, Root Division is a visual arts non-profit located in the SoMa District of San Francisco. They connect creativity and community through a dynamic ecosystem of arts education, exhibitions, and studios. Root Division’s mission is to empower artists, foster community service, inspire youth, and enrich San Francisco through engagement in visual arts.

Tamara Berdichevsky is a Mexican artist and educator with a background in K-12 classroom teaching & art education consultation in California, Connecticut and New York. She also has experience with facilitation & training at museums such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York & the Children’s Creativity Museum, San Francisco. She earned her M.A. in K-12 Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her B.F.A in Sculpture from California College of the Arts. Tamara’s ideals are deeply rooted in the importance of teaching and being a resource to immigrant and marginalized voices, and to help guide their own pathways through art education.

Tamara’s multicultural background and experience have aided her in engaging with others and offering ideas for her work with Root Division that come from different perspectives while serving as an active participant and listener to the arts community and beyond.
