Event description
We are celebrating the launch of What is highly unlikely but not impossible? with drinks, snacks, music, and readings from the editors, Jeanne Gerrity and Diego Villalobos, and contributors Deena Chalabi and Raven Chacon.
What is highly unlikely but not impossible? is the sixth book in A Series of Open Questions, which is published by the Wattis and Sternberg Press, and distributed by MIT Press. Each reader includes newly commissioned texts and an edited selection of perspectives, images, and references related to the Wattis’s year-long research seasons. The title of each book comes in the form of a question.
The sixth issue, edited by Jeanne Gerrity and Diego Villalobos, is informed by themes found in the work of Hiwa K, such as statehood, war, migration, belonging, the effects of neoliberalism and colonialism, home as a concept, language, and the myth of the individual artist.
