What happens before the art? As artists, designers, writers, and cultural producers, we mostly share the final product with little to no trace of all the trials, efforts, missteps, and failures that came before. This show is about sharing a collective consciousness of creative thought - in process.

We Just Wanna Be Somebody Someday is a collegewide exhibition focusing on what happens before the art.  This show is about sharing the process of creative thought.

Please submit sketches, journal entries, doodles, work notes, rough drafts, screenshots and anything else that you have placed into a sketchbook, journal or hard drive that helped you think–whether it materialized or not.  We are interested in seeing the train of thought, ideas too big to be made, the errors of making, and insights into the creative process.  

All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to submit work for this exhibition.  

SUBMITTING WORK:

Please complete the Entry Form,

Then:

• Upload via the Form:  You can upload a Hi-Res image of your sketch and it will be printed for you. 
• High resolution (300 ppi) suggested; 25 MB Max, jpg or pdf formats.  
• Please submit digital files by January 19, 2024, 4pm PST.

• Drop Off to Scan:  We will scan it for you if you bring physical work to the Hooper Computer Lab, located in room GC10 in 184 Hooper.  
• Drop off between 10am and 4pm on the following dates:

DECEMBER 6, 7, 8  Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
DECEMBER 11, 12   Monday, Tuesday
JANUARY 16, 17, 18, 19  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
