Accessing Adobe Region Blocked Apps
Adobe and other apps found only in the US based Apps Store can cause international students arriving to CCA access issues, due to their Apple ID being registered under their primary region.
To access region blocked apps you have two options, change your Apple ID country/region or create an alternate Apple ID. Instructions for both options are outlined below.
Change your Apple ID country / region
You can use your iPhone, iPad, or go online to change your Apple ID country/region. BEFORE making this change, you will need to first:
- Cancel all active subscriptions
- Clear any account balance to 0
- Have a payment method for your new country or region
From your iPhone or iPad: change the Apple ID country / region
- Open the Settings app
- tap your name
- tap Media & Purchases
- tap View Account (you might be asked to sign in)
- tap Country/Region
- tap Change Country or Region
- tap new country or region, United States
- review the Terms & Conditions, tap Agree in the upper-right corner
- tap Agree again to confirm
Online: change the Apple ID country / region
- Sign in to appleid.apple.com
- tap Personal Information
- tap Country/Region
- tap Change Country/Region
- follow online instructions
- If you're part of a Family Sharing group, you may not be able to change your country or region
- Apple can restrict switching Apple ID regions to once per 90 days on a given device
- Purchases prior to changing country/region not downloaded to the device may not be accessible
- Installed apps will remain installed on any device and should continue to work normally
Create an alternate Apple ID
From your iPhone or iPad: create a new Apple ID
- Open the App Store
- tap the My Account button
- tap Create New Apple ID. If you don't see this option, make sure you are signed out of iCloud.
- follow the onscreen steps and set new country/device region, United States
- enter your payment method and billing information, then tap Next
- confirm your U.S. phone number, tap Next.
- check your email for a verification email from Apple and verify your email address
- after you verify your email address, you can use your Apple ID to sign in
As of 2023 all new Apple IDs have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, requiring a phone number (in this case it must be an US phone #) to receive verification codes to log into the newly created Apple ID.
Access Adobe Apps
After changing your Apple ID country/region or creating an alternate Apple ID with a new country/region:
- Close the App Store (if open)
- Log in to the App Store with your updated (or alternate) Apple ID
- Search for individual Adobe apps or search Adobe Creative Cloud and log in with your CCA email
