Manage Multiple Google Accounts

Last updated on Aug 01, 2023

Often, members of the CCA community need to be logged into more than one Google account, which may include a delegated (shared) account, a separate work account, or a personal account. This can result in unexpected results when trying to access restricted pages.

To help keep this straight while still allowing you to easily access multiple accounts, we recommend these methods:

Use Chrome Profiles

This method takes a little setup, but is by far the cleanest way to keep your CCA account activities separated from your personal or other Google accounts. If you prefer to be logged into more than 1 Google account simultaneously, we recommend this method

Use Chrome with multiple profiles

Sign in to multiple accounts

Google does enable you to be logged into multiple Google accounts in the same browser (not using the Profiles method above). However, you will need to always pay attention to which Google account is active at any one time, and know how to "switch" accounts as appropriate. Be mindful of which account is set as the default account, and how to switch accounts if you unexpectedly get an Access Denied error.
