As a footwear and fashion industry expert, I rely on almost four decades of deep knowledge in research, design, product development, manufacturing, logistics, merchandising, and sales management to successfully work with and provide design and consulting services to large brands and start-ups. My industry strengths encompass all aspects of branding and design, from initial concept through final delivery to the consumer.

My proficiency and deep industry knowledge have led me to excel in providing Intellectual Property expert witness services, having worked on more than three dozen litigation cases since 2012. My work involves offering unique and well-considered opinions related to design and utility patents, trademarks, copyright, trade dress, trade secrets, counterfeits, and materials research and analysis. This experience includes live testimony, both virtually and in person, at two dozen depositions and multiple federal trials. I am also the named inventor on four United States footwear design patents.

I absolutely love my role as an Adjunct II Professor of footwear design at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. With a deep connection to the industry, I am highly engaged in working with young designers as an educator, mentor, and advocate as they learn and launch their careers. Beginning in 2024, I have served on the University's Faculty Senate Executive Committee. Other projects and collaborations with the University include mentoring students and alumni and facilitating an upcycled fashion show with Oakland Roots SC, which attracted more than 16,000 attendees.

With my far-reaching industry experience, I have more recently expanded into public speaking and podcasts as a guest lecturer, panelist, moderator, and event chair. Between 2019 and 2025, I participated in more than 20 conferences and universities across the United States. I was invited to serve as a 2024 juror for the Global Footwear Awards and to write the preface for their anniversary edition book, launching in 2026. Most recently, I was honored to serve as a juror for the Footwear Innovation Foundation competition in 2025.
