Born in Cambridgeshire, England, and raised in small towns near Madison, Wisconsin, Kevin Newman began his formal artistic training at the age of seventeen at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. One of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in the world, acceptance into the Academy was by portfolio only and was dedicated to the aesthetics, methodology, and history of fine arts, specifically drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. It was here and at the Art Students League of New York that he trained in the classic studies of fine arts.

Over the span of his career, Kevin Newman has worked in virtually every medium and explored a wide variety of artistic styles in both the worlds of publishing and advertising. Today, the design of icons, logos, trademarks, and the world of branding and design dominate Kevin Newman's career, attracting the world's largest companies, design firms, and advertising agencies. Kevin Newman currently lives and works in Santa Monica, California.
