RE: A Message of Respect and Recognition
Colleagues,
As we navigate this difficult year, the Board of Trustees wishes to speak directly to the faculty. We recognize that this is a period of uncertainty, grief, and transition.
Many of us hold deep personal connections to this institution: some as graduates, some as parents and grandparents of students, and others through generations of family who attended. We know firsthand the impact of the education provided here, and we are personally better as humans for having served a college that has meant so much to so many.
We see the immense weight you are carrying. Despite the professional challenges our pending closure presents, your dedication to our students remains steadfast. You are continuing to teach, mentor, and create with professionalism. Please know that we see the heart you are putting into this season of our shared history.
We also want to specifically acknowledge the leadership of the Faculty Senate. In these difficult times, their advocacy has been instrumental in ensuring that our academic mission remains strong and that our community continues to provide the high-quality education our students deserve.
There are no easy words for a moment of such significant loss. However, we want to state clearly our deep respect for your work and our gratitude for the legacy you have built—a legacy that lives on in the students you have shaped.
Thank you for everything you are doing for the CCA community.
