The following communication was emailed to all faculty on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Subject: Vanderbilt University Notice of Potential Future Academic Programming and Information Inquiry
Dear CCA Faculty,
We are pleased to share the memo below from VU, which outlines an initial framework for their upcoming hiring process for those individuals who may be offered positions when available.
Please note that these materials represent the very beginning of their planning phase. As VU continues to develop this process, VU expects to share additional updates in the future.
Vanderbilt University is currently in the early stages of exploring and developing potential academic programming for Fall 2027 and beyond. We are excited to expand our tradition of scholarly excellence and transformative education in the Bay Area.
We recognize the immense talent, dedication, and pedagogical expertise within the CCA faculty community. While our plans are contingent upon several factors—including internal university reviews and necessary external regulatory approvals—we are eager to identify scholars who may be interested in joining us in this new chapter as we explore new curriculum and courses.
If you would like to share your curriculum vitae and a brief cover letter highlighting your interest and experience, we invite you to do so through our introductory portal: https://www.vanderbilt.edu/work-at-vanderbilt/vu-sf-faculty/. Submitting your information does not constitute an offer of employment or a guarantee of any kind.
As the final scope of the Fall 2027 programming is not yet determined, and external regulatory approvals are needed, Vanderbilt, which is and will operate as a separate legal entity from CCA, cannot currently project specific hiring needs or timelines. However, receiving your interest now will allow us to move as quickly as possible as academic programing for Fall 2027 and beyond takes shape.
With regards,
Vanderbilt University
