Dear Students,
Our commitment to you remains steadfast. Your educational experience and degree completion pathways are our highest priorities. CCA is moving forward to continue full operations through the 2026–2027 academic year. We are here to support and celebrate you every step of the way.
What This Means for You
Continued Academic Excellence through 2026-2027 Year
The quality of your education remains our priority across all courses, shops, and studios. Your classes, capstones, exhibitions, theses, and commencement will proceed as planned. Furthermore, we are maximizing our facilities to provide continuing students with greater access to exhibition opportunities, resources, and dedicated studio spaces during this time.
Tuition and Financial Support
Tuition rates will remain unchanged for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are actively developing more support, such as increasing scholarships and providing housing incentives to assist students with their ongoing educational costs. (Details will be shared soon.)
Accreditation and Degree Recognition
CCA remains fully accredited through the end of the 2026–2027 academic year. All degrees conferred by the completion of that year carry permanent recognition from employers, graduate schools, and licensing bodies. Your skills and degree will hold their full value.
Planning Your Path Beyond the 2026-2027 Year
To support students continuing their journey after the academic year 2026-2027, we are establishing formal "teach-out" agreements with accredited partner institutions. These offer a distinct advantage over a standard transfer process:
- A Pre-Approved Roadmap: Unlike a typical individual transfer, a teach-out agreement is a pre-approved pathway created specifically for a larger group of CCA students.
- Clear Timeline to Degree Completion: Unlike a standard transfer (where credit acceptance and time to degree are evaluated individually and confirmed only after admission), teach-out agreements establish an academic pathway for a group of students in advance. These plans are being designed to maximize the recognition of your CCA coursework and support timely degree completion, reducing uncertainty around additional time to graduation.
- Cost Stability: A primary goal of these agreements is to keep your tuition and fees as stable as possible, often including fee waivers and specialized financial aid.
These agreements provide a secure bridge to your degree, ensuring your work at CCA is fully honored. We will begin sharing designated teach-out partner institutions in the coming weeks.
Accelerated Pathways to Graduation
We have introduced several new Degree Acceleration Pathways to help students complete their degrees at CCA by the end of the 2026–2027 academic year:
- Updated Transfer and AP/IB Credit Policies: We have revised our policies to allow more of your previous work to count toward your degree. This includes increased transfer credit caps, expanded AP/IB recognition, and residency requirement flexibility. Please refer to these transfer policies for full details.
- New Undergraduate Degree Options: For students who may be unable to complete BFA requirements by the end of the 2026–2027 academic year, we are launching streamlined pathways including a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art and Design Studies.
- Graduate Program Acceleration: We are developing academic pathways to accelerate progress toward degree completion for students in the 3-year MFA Design and dual-degree programs so they can graduate by the end of the 2026–27 academic year.
Next Steps and Academic Support
To ensure you have a clear path forward, your advisors and program chairs are available for one-on-one consultations. They can help you navigate the requirements for graduating at CCA in the academic year 2026-2027 or assist in coordinating a transition to a partner institution.
