Financial support and scholarships

Pratt will provide scholarship support to help make your transition as affordable as possible. For the 2027–28 academic year, CCA teach-out students will receive a renewable tuition award equal to $36,000 ($18,000 for fall and spring semesters), which is renewable for subsequent terms. This award represents approximately 53.6% of projected 2027–28 tuition, a highly competitive rate that is significantly above Pratt's current highest discount tier. On-campus housing at Pratt is limited and cannot be guaranteed for transfer students.

Students who are eligible to submit a FAFSA must do so by April 1, 2027, and list Pratt as a recipient in order to be considered for the full range of financial aid. Students who express interest in Pratt can request a detailed financial aid offer outlining the total financial aid package and cost of attendance. In their decision-making process, students should consider that state-funded financial aid from California, such as Cal Grant, cannot be used at out-of-state institutions.

Reduced academic residency requirement

As a teach-out student, you will receive a full waiver of the academic residency requirement (i.e., the minimum number of credits you are required to complete at Pratt after transferring there). This ensures you only need to complete your remaining major and degree requirements to graduate, without being forced to take additional elective units simply to satisfy an institutional minimum.

Streamlined admissions and waived fees

If you are a CCA student in good academic standing (a CCA GPA of 2.0 or higher), you will be admitted into a corresponding aligned program without needing to submit a personal statement, essay, or portfolio. Students with a GPA below 2.0 may still be considered for admission, but may be asked to submit additional materials, as determined by Pratt. There is no application fee.

Admission is based on academic standing and program alignment. Placement in certain programs may be subject to capacity limits; programs where capacity is anticipated to be limited are identified in the table below (footnotes 2 and 3).

Credit and general education transfer

Pratt will accept credits earned at CCA that fulfill the requirements of your new program, including credits that CCA previously accepted from other institutions, to the extent permissible and possible. If you have completed CCA's core general education requirements, you will be considered to have satisfied all Pratt general education requirements. If you have completed some, but not all, of these requirements, your coursework will be evaluated to maximize your incoming credit.

International students

Pratt will waive any additional English-language proficiency testing or documentation requirements for international students transferring under this agreement, such as TOEFL or IELTS, recognizing that CCA has already confirmed your English-language proficiency for full admission and enrollment.

There is no application fee, and CCA students in good standing will follow the streamlined admissions process outlined in the teach-out agreement.

A note about teach-out applications

Special teach-out applications have been designed by our teach-out partners to provide you a streamlined path straight to an official admissions offer. These applications are not like standard college applications that require complex submission steps and drawn-out evaluations of your record for admission decisions. Instead, these simplified applications ask for some basic information from you so teach-out partners can generate your admissions offer, detail how your credits transfer, and map out your path to graduation.

Submitting an application does not commit you to enrolling at Pratt. Students may apply to more than one teach-out institution while exploring their options before making a final decision.

Once you submit your complete application, CCA will provide your academic records to Pratt—unless you previously authorized record sharing through the interest form, in which case those records have already been transmitted. If you attended another college or university before CCA, Pratt may also ask you to request official transcripts directly from those institutions.

Admissions and Enrollment Timeline

The timeline below provides an overview of the admissions and enrollment process. Some requirements may vary depending on your academic program, financial aid eligibility, housing plans, or international student status. Contact Pratt’s admissions office (see contact info below) with any questions.

• Approximately 2 weeks after submitting your application - Admission decision: You can expect to receive your admission decision, institutional financial aid offer, and transfer credit evaluation.
• Fall 2026 - Information sessions: Attend a Pratt information session. Session details will be shared as they become available.
• Fall 2026 - Portfolio review (if applicable): A portfolio is generally not required for admission for students in good standing but may be requested for certain programs, for students who are not in good academic standing, or for program placement. 
• Fall 2026 - Official transcripts (if applicable): If you previously attended another college or university, Pratt may ask you to request official transcripts directly from those institutions.
• Approximately 1 week after submitting the FAFSA - Financial aid offer: Domestic students can generally expect to receive their full financial aid offer and cost of attendance information approximately one week after Pratt receives their FAFSA. Timing may vary during peak processing periods.
• Mid-January 2027 - Housing notification: Students interested in campus housing can expect housing information beginning in mid-January. Because on-campus housing is limited, availability cannot be guaranteed.
• Mid-February 2027 - Housing selection: Students offered housing will receive instructions for room selection, and will need to submit the $300 housing deposit by the deadline.
• Mid-February 2027 - Enrollment deposit: Pratt will waive the $500 enrollment fee.  To confirm enrollment, contact Latrelle Rostant (contact information below). 
• Spring 2027 - Portfolio submission (if requested): Submit any additional portfolio materials requested by Pratt.
• March 15, 2027 - SEVIS records transfer: F-1 international students should request transfer of their SEVIS record beginning on this date, with a SEVIS record release date after CCA classes end on May 10, 2027, and before Pratt classes begin. CCA’s International Student Services team will provide instructions to affected students.
• Year-round - Campus visits: Campus tours are available Monday through Friday. Students may contact Pratt Admissions to arrange a campus visit.
