FURNT-3080: Fabrication Lab: Hybrid Practice
Course Description
Furniture and object production engages analog and digital tools in the fabrication landscape of today. These tools hold equal potential as sources of creative problem solving and expression. In this course, students will have an opportunity to engage with a range of tools at the intersection of analog and digital fabrication. Students will learn to build digital models, and develop files and workflow for CCA’s Rapid Prototyping Studio and beyond. Through studio visits and research, students will build resources and learn to engage with fabrication partners as part of their creative practice. Primary digital tools are focused on industry standards: Rhino, Solidworks, Autocad.
This course offers students from all disciplines the opportunity to connect their own creative practice to tooling available via the CCA Rapid Prototyping Studio and the Wornick Furniture Studios. Shop and safety orientations are required.
