FURNT-3160: Production Furniture 1
Course Description
Production 1 is the first of two courses in which students explore object design and production at varying scales. In this first course students design and fabricate designed objects using craft-based techniques, focusing on tabletop objects and small scale furniture.. Students will research precedents and cultural contexts, and develop a values-driven approach to design, materials, and production. Through off-campus studio visits and field trips, meet a range of creatives working in the field and learn about venues involved in the business of making, curating, and exhibiting handmade designed objects.
