Emerging technologies challenge established human-computer interaction patterns while also creating fresh and exciting opportunities for design. This class creates a safe space in which designers can gain an intuitive understanding of key emerging technologies through hands-on making and projects with particular emphasis on new and emergent technologies which might include machine learning and AI, VR, Augmented reality, and other still yet-to-be-invented technologies. Students learn how to present the potential of emerging technologies through the focused lens of design and user experience while remaining grounded in realistic timelines and constraints.
