Description:
Animation Workshops are a series of courses that teach essential skills about a specific topic within animation. Under the guidance of the instructor, students will engage in rigorous study about a specific subject matter. The goal of Animation Workshops is to produce work that illustrates the skills learned. These courses are open to all CCA students who have completed CORE D1 and 4D.In this class we will create a "real world" movie set, in miniature. Discussions, lectures and demonstrations will illustrate the importance of careful planning, based on an established storyline in order to create a set that accommodates various shot angles, lighting scenarios, animators, and camera access to the cinematography process. The final project for the class will be a complete set of well lit photographs, produced by the student. These photographs will represent the set's function in the proposed production by accommodating, showing, every shot angle called for in the script. By taking this class the student will develop an appreciation for how the Production Designer, Art Director and Set Decorator functions on a typical movie set, coordinating with the film's Director to achieve the originally desired outcome. Some woodshop skills will be utilized in cutting wood, drilling holes, gluing, painting and finishing work.
