Description:
Animation Workshops are a series of courses that teach essential skills about a specific topic within animation. These courses are open to all CCA students who have completed CORE D1 and 4D.This course explores the unique topic of animated loops; both in concept and craft. Students will learn about the history of loops in animation and their contemporary application in advertising, internet art, filmmaking, and new media through a series of short-form animation projects. Each project will introduce a new 2D digital animation software giving students a foundation in programs like TVPaint, Harmony, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects. Particular emphasis will be given to fine-tuning skills in compositing pipelines and digital editing. Lectures will involve looking at artists working with loops and regular film screenings will explore repetitive temporalities and cyclical storytelling.Students across majors and all levels of animation experience are welcome and will benefit from this class.
