Description:
Hybrid course sections will be delivered both online and in-person. Required online synchronous meeting times are listed as the meeting pattern for this course section. Additional course components will be delivered asynchronously or in-person as outlined in the syllabus.Animation Workshops are a series of courses that teach essential skills about a specific topic within animation. Under the guidance of the instructor, students will engage in rigorous study about a specific subject matter. The goal of Animation Workshops is to produce work that illustrates the skills learned. These courses are open to all CCA students who have completed CORE D1 and 4D.
This course is designed to teach students acting concepts and skills and how to apply those skills in their work as animators, so they can create dynamic characters and emotionally-resonant performances. The class examines live-action and animated film clips and introduces a variety of simple, effective and immediately usable acting tools and techniques. Students will rehearse and perform in scenes directed by the instructor, as well as participate in acting and improv exercises. No prior acting experience is necessary, and scenes will be provided.
