Description:

This class is open to students who have taken the 3000 Level Sound for Animation class as well as those who have not taken a Sound class before. Students who have taken a sound class before will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of sound and work with their current film projects/ make new work. Students who are fresh to sound will be introduced to all the different practical skills needed for successful sound design, recording and editing.This class will give students the conceptual and practical skills needed for Sound in Animation and Film, both for actors and directors across the field of time based media. The class will include Sound design, foley recording, field recording, sound scape, creating original music, sound editing and dialogue performance and recording for film and Animation. Whether you are working on your film projects or exploring sound design to apply it in your work, this class will give you the much needed experience and confidence - helping you ‘think’ sound alongside image, and not as an after thought. Students will emerge from the class feeling very confident with all the skills needed to create sound for their films.
