Description:

Animation Tutorials are production workshops for advanced level animation students. Depending on the instructor, students will complete a sequence of animation exercises or one semester long project. Critiques will be conducted similar to studio dailies where the instructor gives the student production notes in order to improve their animation. Based on this assessment, it is the student's responsibility to improve their work. All advanced animation students who have completed Animation 2 are welcome.Games Development is a professional studio focused on learning the process and best practices needed for creative careers in the games field. Students will learn the games development process, the games production pipeline, the roles and positions in professional and independent game studios, as well as various methods in taking a game from concept to distribution. In this course students will participate in the creation of a semester-long, collaborative development cycle of an original digital game, from concept through prototyping, playtesting, asset development, testing, systems refinement, and distribution. Games Development serves as the third course of the Games Track within the Animation program. Foundational experience with the Unity Game Engine (a free, industry standard software suite) is ideal and helpful. If possible, students without foundational experience in Unity should complete a series of introductory tutorials in the using the Unity Interface and Unity Playground prior to the start of classes. The course instructor will direct students to these quick, easy-to-learn resources.
