Description:
This course introduces the formal, spatial and tectonic characteristics of architectural design. Through a series of focused, objective exercises, these are designed to make a coherent correlation among spatial, structural and organizational systems. Design projects together with analyses of historical precedents address the ways in which program can generate form, and how spatial constraints can create design opportunities. The overall goal is to develop design process and a set of well-controlled tools, which will help to inform and structure design.
