Description:
Architecture Theory covers the broad range of theories that have historically comprised the way in which architecture has been imagined and implemented. Theory provides an introductory exploration into both western and non-western traditions that posit thinking and writing as an integral part of the building process. As part of the course students read from texts from within and outside of the architectural discipline. This course focuses on the development of methods of critical inquiry, comprehension, and writing skill and the translation of theory into architectural representation and design.
