This course takes its prompt from the structure of theatrical productions - bringing together short narratives with prop/costume/set-like sculptural forms to develop new, interactive work. We will practice advanced ceramic handbuilding techniques in tandem with storytelling, performances and informal oral presentations. Each week we will read or write short stories while learning to handbuild quick models and large scale forms. Assignments will require significant self-direction and independent work outside of class time.
