Independent study is a variable (1-3) unit course which is available to graduate matriculated students in good standing only. For approval, students must obtain the signature of the instructor, their advisor, and the Director of their program.This independent study course is to fabricate a hydroponic student kit made of a biomaterial that is irregularly surfaced (bacteria-friendly). I will create a variety of prototypes, forms, and biomaterial experiments resulting in a vacuum formable material. I will use CCA’s vacuum form machine (Formech) and Xinampa’s Mayku FormBox desktop vacuum former.
