Description:

Technical Digital Flat:This course introduces the creation of technical flat renderings. Hand drawing and digital skills are focused on the creation of detailed renderings which illustrate the garment details (seam lines, stitch details, trims, etc) as shown from a flat position. This course will explore woven, knit, men’s, and women’s design categories. Demonstrations and studio work are combined with weekly assignments, so that new techniques and formats are immediately executed and critiqued in class. Students will also develop organizational skills and working systems to enable fluid and swift technical drawing.Figure Illustration:This course builds on the skills learned in Fashion Illustration 1. Hand drawing skills are focused on fabric, textile and print structures and figure drawing using a live model. Development of 2-D presentation skills and personal style are emphasized. Demonstrations and studio work are combined with weekly assignments, so that new techniques and formats are immediately executed and critiqued in class. This class consists of demonstrations and lab time. Students are expected to use class time to advance class assignments with guidance from the instructor.
